Big Homer Lifts 3rd Ranked Sissonville Over Top Ranked Scott
Makenna Parcell's three-run homer in the top of the 4th inning lifted the 3rd ranked Sissonville Lady Indians over the top ranked Scott Lady Skyhawks, 3-2, on Monday night in Madison in a Class AA showdown.
Scott to the 1-0 lead when Kambri Beard scored on a Hannah Miller sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
Parcell's homer then gave Sissonville a 3-1 lead.
Scott closed the gap to 3-2 when Beard scored on a sacrifice fly from Miller in the bottom of the 5th inning, but Jozey Wilson was able to slam the door shut.
Parcell was named the Tug Valley Wellness Center Player of the Game for her efforts.
Other than Parcell's homer, Bella Alexander had 2 hits. Abby Queen, Jayme Robinson and Lydia Ellis each had a hit.
Wilson only allowed 1 earned run and 4 hits while striking out 13 batters in a complete game.
For Scott, Beard had 2 hits, including a double. Caitlyn Esbrandt added a double. Miller had a hit and 2 RBIs.
Ava Sampson was credited with the loss.
