Prestonsburg Earns 12-9 Win At Betsy Layne In Softball Action
The Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats picked up a nice 12-9 win on the road over county rival Betsy Layne on Monday.
Kendra Runyon had 4 hits including 2 homers, a double and 4 RBIs to lead the Lady Blackcats. Alivia Williams added 3 hits, including a home run and 3 RBIs. Johnna Ward and Addie Wright had 3 hits and 1 RBI each. Candiace Allen added a double and 1 RBI. Ava Vanover recorded a hit and 1 RBI. Kinley Crisp and Paisly Slone finished with a hit each.
Vanover went the distance in the pitcher's circle for the Lady Blackcats, striking out 10 batters to get the win.
For Betsy Layne, Hannah Jarrell had 3 hits and 1 RBI. Hailey Carroll had 3 hits, including a double. Jayden Jarrell added 2 hits. Jalen Carroll had a hit and 3 RBIs. Elizabeth Joseph added a hit and 1 RBI. Cassidy Kidd and Marissa Blankenship both finished with a hit.
